WhatsApp is the favorite messaging app in over 180 countries. So do you know how to enable notifications on WhatsApp? The following article will show you how to turn on WhatsApp notifications on Android with very simple steps.
Method 1 of 2: turn on WhatsApp notifications on Android Settings
1

Open the Settings app on your Android. The Settings app typically has a gear or a wrench icon in the apps menu. On some gadgets, it could resemble a toolbox.
2

In Settings, select Apps or Application management. One of these two choices will be available in the Settings section of your smartphone. A list of all your apps will then appear. From here, you can modify the settings for your application.
3
Tap WhatsApp as you scroll down. This will launch WhatsApp’s App Info page.
4
Click on Notifications. On the App Info page, this choice is located toward the bottom.
If you’ve already disabled WhatsApp notifications, “Blocked” or “Off” may be displayed under the Notifications option. It can be tapped to adjust your notification preferences.

Look for a checkbox that says Show notifications at the top of your screen if you don’t see a Notifications option on the App Info page. For alerts to be activated, tap and tick this box. No more settings will have to be changed.
5
Block all switches should be moved to the Off position. App notifications are set to be enabled by default, but if you’ve blocked them in the past by changing your notification settings, you can enable them again here by turning off the block.

This option may alternatively display as Block or Disable depending on the make and version of your device.
Method 2 of 2: Enabling WhatsApp settings
1
On your device, launch WhatsApp Messenger. The WhatsApp icon resembles a white phone inside a green speech balloon.
If a chat starts up in WhatsApp, use the back arrow in the top-left corner of the screen. You’ll return to the CHATS menu after that.

2

Press the Menu key. On your screen, it appears as three vertically stacked dots in the upper-right corner. You’ll see a drop-down menu appear.
3
Select Settings. The drop-down menu will include this choice at the bottom.

Click on Notifications. On your Settings menu, this choice will be next to a green bell icon.

Conversation tones are checked off by tapping the box there. The Notifications menu will include this choice at the top. Your device will start making a sound whenever you send or receive a message in a personal or group conversation once it is switched on.

You can temporarily muffle conversation tones by muting your device.
